Jim Quick is a Partner in Diamond’s Insurance practice and is part of the team of experts focused on “running IT as a business” with a focus on portfolio management and IT spend analysis. Jim also leads the firm’s IT financial management competency and has most recently focused on enterprise portfolio management processes and tools as well as providing leadership on a variety of BPM projects.
Recently, Jim led the deployment of enterprise portfolio management processes and a world-class EPM tool within a $1B IT department. At a $400 million infrastructure technology department Jim created a Technology Management Office focused on improving customer delivery, improving transparency of all work efforts, and overall reporting . He led a $10 million insurance member maintenance and billing redesign project focused on creating a paperless, workflow-driven, and more effective 300 person national processing unit. Additionally, Jim led the PMO for a $100 million customer experience program at a large Group insurer focused on implementing a variety of business process and technology changes across 14 different initiatives.
Jim has consistently facilitated collaboration between functional business experts and technical development teams to ensure focus and success on common business objectives. He is familiar with a variety of common business processes, such as insurance industry processes, accounts receivable, credit and collections, and procurement. In addition, Jim is well-versed in technical processes such as project life cycle methodology, IT governance principles, and IT portfolio frameworks focusing on managing IT as a business. Jim’s experience spans a number of CIO and COO focus areas: IT and business alignment, optimizing IT spend, and operational excellence through process and technology improvements.
